historical move

Fidel Castro spearheaded the 1953–1959 Cuban Revolution, an uprising against Fulgencio Batista's totalitarian rule. Thousands of Batista's soldiers were executed once the uprising was successful, including Jose Rodriguez, whose last moments are depicted in this picture. United Press International photographer Andrew Lopez dejectedly watched as Rodriguez was given the final sacraments by a priest to prepare him for his demise. In 1960, Lopez won the Pulitzer Prize for his photograph, "Last Rites of Jose Rodriquez," which is suitably titled.
